All students want their house party to go with a bang - but perhaps not literally.
Around 100 students at a party in Handsworth, Birmingham, last Friday night had a lucky escape when the floor beneath their feet collapsed, sending them plummeting 8ft into the basement.
Elvis Gyimah, 19, one of seven students living at the property said: 'While the party was going on the floor started shaking but we thought nothing of it.
Then randomly it just collapsed.
Everybody fell through to the basement and were lying on top of each other.
Everyone started panicking and trampling over each other to get out.
But we got everyone out of the house safely'.
Three ambulances, two paramedic support officers and a hazardous area response team were sent to the scene, along with police cars and fire crews.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service Spokesman said it was 'amazing' that everyone escaped injury.
