The SSSI is managed in conjunction with Scottish Natural Heritage and whilst grazing by sheep and cattle is permitted, consent is limited to a maximum of 16 cows and 40 sheep. There is an annual management grant paid by the Scottish Natural Heritage of about £2,250.
The land is split into two enclosures, serviced by two water troughs and bound by post and wire fencing with a right of access at two points across the public road.
