We were actually searching for a new home in another area of Chigwell when our estate agent told us this house had just come onto the market, and we'd heard that the Courtland Estate was one of the best addresses in the area so we couldn't wait to take a look. He called us at noon, we came to view the house at 2pm, fell completely in love with absolutely everything about it and we put in an offer there and then. We've since had twenty-five extremely happy years here.

One of the things that drew us to this house was the fact that it has a really lovely garden that incorporates a full-size swimming pool. We've since put attractive fencing around it so that it's safe for children, and it's something that we've had a lot of fun in over the years. The rest of the garden is mainly laid to lawn, so really easy to maintain, and we have a huge patio that stretches the width of the house, which is perfect for alfresco dining, relaxing and entertaining. We also had a championship putting green installed for my son and that too has been a fabulous feature.

This is a house that for us as a family has ticked so many boxes. The location is peaceful yet wonderfully convenient – I can hop on the Underground and be in Oxford Circus in just over half an hour. I've no doubt that its new owners will be every bit as happy here as we have been.
