Property Description

This large and very well appointed family home enjoys an extremely desirable location on a sought after residential road just a mile from Loughton town centre.

Over time the current owners have made some quite considerable changes to the house. They've extended both up and out, which has given the home a much larger kitchen, a bigger lounge, they have also been able to create a very large family bathroom and created an extra bedroom. They also converted the garage into a fabulous utility room. So the house is now very spacious throughout and all of the rooms have really good proportions so it's a very comfortable family home, and most of the rooms also have lovely big windows so it's extremely light and bright throughout.

The house is a wonderful family home and the garden is a fantastic feature of the property. There are patio doors from both the kitchen and the large lounge/dining room leading out onto a raised terrace, and from there you step down onto a really nice decked seating area. The rest of the garden is mainly laid to lawn and edged with a mature border of beautiful plants that create colour throughout the year, and right at the very end are some beautiful trees, so the outlook is lovely and the garden enjoys a superb degree of privacy. The owners love the fact that it gets the sun right throughout the day and because the terrace is slightly raised they can sit out and enjoy the most magnificent sunsets.

What the Owner says:
We bought the house back in 1987 and our original plan was to enlarge and refurbish it and then sell it on, but we loved the location so much that we ended up staying for just over three decades. From here we can walk to the shops in Loughton or hop on the Tube and be in the city centre in no more than forty minutes, we have the forest practically on our doorstep, which is a lovely place for a gentle stroll on a Sunday afternoon, and when we sit out in our garden, it's so peaceful and the outlook is so leafy and green that it's often hard to believe we're just minutes away from a bustling town centre. I can't imagine there are many places as nice as this and that offer quite so much.

We've been extremely happy here for the past thirty-two years and the thing that I think I'll miss most when we leave is the setting. We enjoy utter peace and privacy at home, and when you sit out in the garden you feel miles from anywhere, and yet at the same time we have the peace of mind of knowing everything is just a stone's throw away. In my opinion it couldn't be more ideal.
