Property Description

Forming part of a beautiful property; dated in the late 1800's, our cosy one-bedroom holiday apartment has a pretty garden at the front and views across the town. Recently renovated, it is ideal for a family, or couples looking to get away and enjoy the idyllic Isle of Wight. Enter the apartment through a small courtyard at the rear. The hallway leads into the welcoming living room with a large corner sofa (pulls out into a large double comfy sofa bed) and dining table. Relax in front of the HD TV with free Netflix subscription. The small but practical kitchen has a hob, oven and grill, microwave, kettle, and toaster and is fully equipped with pots, pans, glasses, and crockery, and cutlery. In the bedroom, there is the option of one king size bed or two singles. There is also a pull out guest bed which is ideal for children. There is cupboard space to hang your clothes and a large dressing table with hairdryer provided. The bathroom has a newly fitted power shower over the bath, and a heated towel rail to warm your towels after your shower! Fluffy towels and fresh linen are provided for your stay, and a welcome pack included tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for that well earned cuppa after your journey.
Guest access:
Guests have access to the entire apartment. Self check in via a key box on the outside of the building.
Other things to note
The Nook is situated at the top of Spring Hill. This allows perfect views out to sea, however it does mean you need to climb back up this hill to get home from town.On street parking is available nearby on St Boniface Road, or in the town centre car park at the bottom of Spring Hill. The tourist car parking pass is worth buying if you wish to park in the car parks. For a reasonable amount you can then use all council car parks on the whole island.

Ventnor has a wealth of activities, walks and pastimes to enjoy, both in the town and nearby. Ventnor beach is the southernmost holiday beach on the Isle of Wight and is well-loved by locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the bay beneath the tumbling tiers of the Victorian town, Ventnor"s red shingle and golden sand beach has vintage beach huts that once had wheels and transported the gentry down to the sea to bath as they were bathing machines. These can be hired on a daily basis from the hut on the sea wall, as can deckchairs, sun loungers and wind breaks, which are hammered into the sand for you with an old wooden mallet. The Cascade road winds its way around a rocky waterfall to arrive on the seafront where a bandstand-like structure stands with 360 degree views from its lofty viewing platform. A small haven sits to the left of this and a long rock spit stretches out to sea: an ideal walk with your camera to then look back on the seafront and Cascade. Inside the Haven is a short pier used by local fishermen, who supply wet fish and seafood courtesy of the shop in the building on top – local caught fish and chips are served from a side window. Opposite here at the foot of the Cascade is the famous Isle of Wight paddling pool, a giant replica of the Isle of Wight map showing all the major towns and roads, that has entertained children for over 100 years. Next to it is a restaurant serving great all day breakfasts as well as lunches and snacks.

Walk along the seafront and there are all the ingredients of an ideal beach holiday: ice-creams, an amusement arcade, a bistro-style bar serving tapas and drinks, a beach shop, more cafes and, crowning the bay, the world famous Spyglass Inn, which has a quirky nautical-themed interior and upper and lower deck terraces overlooking the sea. The local beach is beautiful a great suntrap if you like a bit of sunbathing and there are plenty of places to eat in town. Ventnor even has its own festival in July every year!
