Ayrshire is renowned for its many golf courses including the world famous Turnberry, Prestwick and Royal Troon and the world class "19" hole golf course designed by Colin Montgomerie at Rowallan Castle, in Kilmaurs and Beith and Lochwinnoch both have 18 hole golf courses. There are excellent yachting facilities at the marinas at Ardrossan, Largs, Inverkip and Troon. The Michelin starred restaurant Braidwoods in Dalry is 7 miles from Barrhill Farm. Bowfield Hotel with private club , gym, fitness, pool and restaurant facilities is located near Howwood some 7 miles distant.
