Property Description
Your architype chocolate box cottage in a pretty village setting is what’s on offer here. One certainly not to be missed if that is the sort of property that your heart tells you to buy.
A handy entrance porch greets you as you enter, an ideal space to kick off your boots after a lovely countryside walk! From hear you pass through another door and step into a character filled living room complete with feature fireplace and exposed beams. A deceptive space that will allow for a small dining table as well as your cosy place in front of the fire. The kitchen provides ample work surface space to prepare and practise your favourite recipes as well as plenty of cupboard space to store the ingredients and cooking trays. A concealed stairs case then leads from here to the first floor landing. Stepping down from the landing you will find yourself in the main bedroom, quirky with character and with ample room for a good sized double bed and units to store your clothes. The second bedroom is currently used as a study but will take a single bed. A re-fitted bathroom with a three piece suite and heated towel rail complete the tour of the upstairs.
Like some old cottages, particularly in the village the garden is separate to the house. Access is gained by a pathway from the square to some stone outbuildings (two of which come with the house) to a gate. Passing through the gate you will find yourself transported to a tranquil place that is deceptively large and comes with a potting shed, greenhouse and pond.
Directions
From Torrington proceed in a southerly direction on the A386 signposted Hatherleigh / Okehampton and after approximately 3 miles upon reaching the site of the former Gribble Inn (now New Homes) on the right hand side, take the right hand turning signposted Peters Marland / Petrockstowe / Shebbear. Continue along this road passing the Tarka Trail Car Park and Yarde Cafe on your left, then after passing the farm on your right, continue straight on towards the village of Petrockstowe. Pass the crossroads and head into the village and past the public house on your right. The cottage is found in a horse shoe of similar homes after a short distance on your left.
