Sellers Story

When we married, we bought our first home on Cannon Park Estate. In 1980 we purchased Cannon Hill Road, which is just a short distance from our former home, as we wanted to stay in this area. The large gardens, set on a large plot, with fruit trees and bushes afforded our young family space to grow. The sitting room / dining room / conservatory area is our favourite space, providing relaxing views of the quiet rear garden and its visitors (Squirrels, Hedgehogs, Foxes, Woodpeckers and all sorts of other wild birds). From Spring onwards, the gardens are a riot of colour - the best times for us allowing us to enjoy the relatively calm and secluded aspect of the rear garden, with its many sun-traps surrounded by established shrubs and fruit trees. The period of Late Spring Summer Early Autumn have been the most enjoyable times for us, being able to enjoy the relatively calm and secluded aspect of the rear garden, with its many sun-traps surrounded by many established shrubs, i.e. Rhododendron, Camelia, Azaleas, Buddleia (Butterfly bush), Spirea (Gold Flame), Rhus (Tree of Heaven) and Honeysuckle whilst springtime delivers a swathe of colour created by masses of blue Anemone Blanda and Chindoxia, contrasting with the yellows and creams of hundreds of Daffodils and Narcissi. Summertime gives over to red, pink and blue Penstemons, mauve, pink and blue Geraniums and pink Cyclamen. We particularly enjoy our year-round walks along Kenilworth Road, The Greenway and the grounds of Warwick University (Tocil Wood and Lakes conservation area).A very short drive away (or a 25-minute walk) is Warwick Arts Centre. There is an art gallery, cinemas, concert hall and restaurant. There is convenient shopping at nearby Cannon Park Centre or the town of Kenilworth and frequent buses take you to Coventry or Leamington. However, as we are now retired, the time has come to move-on, hopefully within the same area in which we now live and are happy. We will have many happy memories of the times spent at Cannon Hill Road.
